Multiple babies, mutliple moms, and multiple photos: Mom’s Group photos (by Scott & Breanna)

One day Scottie and I were strolling through the park and we just found all these babies sitting together. They were all the same age and they were just chilling on a blanket together, so we took a picture.

Did that really happen? No, of course not.

What did happen is that our friend Allison (you may remember her and little Vincent from the baby story video we made when they were expecting him!) gave us a call to come and meet up with her moms group for a little photo shoot!

So we all got together and the kids were perfect, smiled, did exactly what we told them to, and were happy the whole time!

Did that really happen? No, of course not.

These are tiny little children we’re talking about people!

Photo day isn’t as easy for them as you might think! You’d have your moments too if everyone around you was poking, prodding, taunting you by holding up toys you can’t have, setting you on the ground before quickly running away, and acting like crazy people for reasons you can’t possibly comprehend!

So taking all the typical photo insanity into consideration, these little ones did incredibly well holding up to it all! Things went very smoothly and everyone involved had a lot of fun!

Did that really happen? Why yes, yes it did.

Kim’s Exciting and Ever So Organized Maternity Session (by Josh & Kelley)

What could possibly be more exciting than expecting your first child?

If you ask Kim and Jose that question right now, they will likely tell you:  Nothing. Nothing is more exciting than that!

You see, these two are expecting their first little one, a girl, next month, and they’re as happy as can be.

When Kim first contacted me (Kelley) about setting up a maternity session, I could feel their excitement, and that was through an email!

Not only was Kim super excited, but she was extremely organized and thorough when it came to planning her session.

After contacting Josh and me about setting up a shoot, she sent me another email that contained three location choices, website links and photos for each location, and photos of her and her husband so that we could see what they look like!

I’ll tell you what, THAT is my kind of email!  With all of that organization and planning loveliness, I knew right away that Kim and I were going to get along just fine.

As soon as Josh and I saw the images for this library location, we jumped on it!  Kim and Jose added it to their location list because they fell in love with its interesting architecture, and who can blame them?  This place is amazing!

Now, if you’re not aware, it is usually the case that photographers (especially those with flashes and a few not so inconspicuous lenses) and public places do not usually mix well.  Knowing this, Kim (being her ever-so-wonderful organized self) called ahead to make sure we would be permitted to take photos inside the library.  To our surprise, they were completely fine with the idea!

Josh and I were so surprised by this, that we showed up to the location extra early just to double check on the whole shooting a giant camera in-doors thing.  Not only were they okay with it, they LOVED the idea and were genuinely excited about it!

The four of us were excited about it as well, and for two main reasons:  Awesome photos AND air conditioning!  That’s pretty much hitting the mother-load when you’re doing a July photo session in Phoenix, AZ with a mother-to-be.

Kim and Jose, you guys are absolutely amazing, and with so many things working out perfectly in our favor, Josh and I are pretty sure that this maternity session was simply meant to be.

We had a blast quietly sneaking around the library with you, and we can’t wait until August when we get to meet your sweet little girl, and maybe read her a book or two.

Allison's Sunflower Soaked Maternity Session (by Josh & Kelley)

When Allison first contacted me (Kelley) and Josh about doing a maternity session, we went back and forth on locations for a while.

She wanted something unique and interesting, but also wanted the photos to be classic enough that they could have them up in their home for years to come.

Understanding her dilemma, Josh and I did quite a bit of location scouting in order to find the perfect spot.  After lots of searching, we finally landed on a downtown location and set a date.

Not four days later, Josh and I stumbled upon a beautiful field of sunflowers, and, even though we had already picked a different location for Allison’s session, we KNEW this would be perfect.

However, there was a catch, the beautiful flowers would be harvested in about a week.  We had to move fast!

That night, I went home and sent Allison a message and showed her a couple of photos of the location. She was hooked!

Apparently her husband Tim was pretty excited as well.  According to him, they wanted photos with sunflowers “more than [they] want[ed] to live”.

Enough said.  This was happening. We all moved a few things around and set the session for three days later (a month earlier than we originally planned).

I think it’s safe to say that we were all more than pleased with the way things worked out!

Allison told us that yellow is one of her favorite colors and she absolutely loves sunflowers.  How perfect is that?

Not only were the flowers beautiful, but the surrounding area was beautiful as well!

Allison, we’re so happy that you got the unique yet classic session that you’d been dreaming of, and we’re even more excited to meet that new little one very soon!

Vincent is 6 months old and he`s already a man of the world

In a short six months, Vincent truly has accomplished more than most of us could dream of achieving in that amount of time. And that really puts the rest of us to shame because six months is exactly the amount of time he’s been alive. What can I say? He’s a doer!

Not only did he figure out how to use his lungs, his vocal chords, and all kinds of other impressive traits he’s been blessed with, but now he can also sit up….

… touch his head (which is the accomplishment he is the most proud of as you will soon see)…

… and he can fit a whole ball in his mouth.

Not to mention, he’s already been crowned king of someplace or other (how that happened I don’t know- it didn’t seem an appropriate time to ask him)….

Did I mention he’s almost got his color wheel completely down through the pantome book that his artist daddy got him?!

We definitely know he’s already developed an exquisite taste for the finer things in life (mostly he likes to suck on professional camera lenses… the more expensive, the better).

Oh and let’s not forget that he’s already gone somewhat viral since he’s been spread around Facebook like internet candy because he was the subject of our very first video project back when he was a newborn!

And last but not least, he’s already has his very own photo shoot… twice actually!!!

My boy, you truly are amazing! Your parents must be so proud!

Even if you weren’t specifically aware of all his major achievements, you would get the feel for it right away because his face reveals all his worldly wisdom and experience right away.

(this is what I call the guilty face)

I mean, you don’t develop these kind of facial expressions from eating and sleeping alone… this dude has done some living!

And man, does he have some stories to tell!

But until he can use his big boy words to tell us them, he’s going to use his eyebrows, nose, or whatever other feature he has at his disposal that he’s most recently discovered. Or he will just put his hands on his head again…

… and again.

So Vincent my boy, you are quite a man already.

Keep on accomplishing the amazing, and we will keep on oohing and awing about you… even if it’s just because your mommy dresses you well or because you’re just plain adorable (basically we’re going to ooh and aw no matter what you do).

The Campbell Family’s New Addition Session (by Josh & Kelley)

I. LOVE. Babies.

For reals!  Whenever we (Josh and Kelley) book any kind of a baby session, I (Kelley) usually start jumping up and down, dreaming up shot ideas, and blabbing Josh’s ear off until the shoot is over.

(How can you not love babies?!  Just LOOK at him!  Too CUTE!)

So, when we set up a “New Addition” session for the Campbell family (a newborn session, but with the whole family), Josh knew he was in for it!  Why?  Because this family has a beautiful newborn baby boy…

(Love that little smile!)

AND the most adorable two year old little girl that you’ve EVER seen!

That’s right folks, two babies (well, I’m counting toddlers as babies here) in ONE session!  WIN!

When Josh and I arrived, little Isaiah was pretty tired, so we started by getting some sweet sleeping newborn shots.

Now, as you may have heard, it’s best to take newborn photos within seven days or so after the little one is born.  The reason for this is that after that first week, the baby starts to become more alert, awake, and WAY less happy about posing for photos.

While Isaiah was a couple of days past that one week mark on the day of this session, he slept just long enough for us to get some great sleepy shots!

Once Isaiah woke up, Josh and I moved onto family shots! A couple with the WHOLE gang…

Siblings…

Daddy son time…

(He’s so tiny that he fits in his dad’s motorcycle helmet!)

Mother son time….

And of course some daddy daughter time.

(I love that she’s putting on her dad’s hunting cap while wearing a fluffy pink dress!)

Then, right around the time everyone else was running out of energy, it was time for two year old Mikayla to shine (leave it to a two year old to be full of energy when everyone else is winding down).

She pumped everyone else up as she danced to Van Halen’s, “Jump” (courtesy of her dad’s phone) and twirled in a shower of countless bubbles (courtesy of dad and a bubble wand).

Thank you Campbells for letting Josh and me help you document this important new chapter in the life of your family.

Your “New Addition” is already such a blessing to those around him, which is why we know he will fit PERFECTLY into the Campbell family.
