Starting a new life in an old building…Lydia & Matt’s wedding!

It’s very rare to find anything that’s actually old in Phoenix Arizona so when we find something that is… we take our cameras!  That’s why we were so excited when Lydia and Matt told us their wedding was going to be at Shenandoah Mills which is an old mill in Gilbert Arizona that actually used to work and everything! Old wood, rusty metal, and a beautiful, BEAUTIFUL bride to contrast it all… sounds like a perfect Radiant wedding to me!!

Lydia and Matt decided to do a “reveal” moment which means they get to see each other before the wedding and spend a little time alone before they get wrapped up in the busy events of the day.  So we made him turn his back to her and wait… and wait… and wait!  I’m sure he was probably muttering curses under his breath at us for making him wait so long!  But you know… suspense and everything! 🙂  Judging by the look on her face, I’m pretty sure Lydia really enjoyed dragging it out too (she was sneaking up on her tiptoes like a little kid who’s trying to catch Santa Clause… so cute)! Once they finally did get to see each other… they pretty much never let go after that!

The actual ceremony area in the backyard of the Mill was beautiful too!  The easiest way to make me a very happy girl is to put little white lights over a backdrop of solid green ivy (giving me a cup of coffee in that setting will make you my instant BFF)!  Matt and Lydia had all that plus an Arizona sunset, with friends and family all around to enjoy the beauty with them!  We hope our pictures help them all remember this perfect moment in time, just as it was, forever.

I had to throw this one in because it’s one of my favorite groomsmen pictures ever… even if it does lack the actual groom’s head!  That’s reason #124 why I love art… you’re free to move and remove body parts at your whim (just ask Picasso)!
