Best Radiant Photos of 2010… vote now!

We’ve been over and over and over it and we just can’t decide… so now we’re asking you to do our dirty work!  We have narrowed down our favorite photos of 2010 and broken them into 2 different categories.  One is Weddings & Unique Sessions and the other is Seniors Sessions & Families Portraits.  So now we need you to go through each album and pick your faves!

Each comment you make on a photo in the Facebook albums counts as a vote for that photo (make sure you have liked our page so you are able to comment). You can comment on/vote for as many different photos as you want… if you like one, just say so!

Once we tally up the votes, we’ll choose the photos with the most comments to be featured in a blog post highlighting the best Radiant photos of 2010!  Oh and by the way, you are totally allowed to vote for your own photo… we know you’re dying for another opportunity to show off your pics again, so this is your chance!

Go now and vote to your little hearts’ content!

Tiffany and Ed’s Orange and Yellow Unique Session

Did you see Tiffany and Ed’s wedding photos?

If not you need to go back and check them out because this Unique Session was basically a part 2 to their wedding!

The reason I say that is because they were able to plan a Unique Session that went right along with their wedding theme, which is a way we’ve never thought to do it before!

The theme for their wedding was a combo between science, fall, and Halloween.  Now you definitely have to go back and read their wedding blog, just to see how they made those words fit in together with the word “wedding”… it’s freaking cool I promise!

Of course, Halloween is now over (silent tear), so we tossed out that part of their wedding theme for  the Unique Session…

(Except we kept the socks and the creepy tree roots).

…and aside from all the jokes made that day that I (Breanna) didn’t understand (Scottie got them because he’s a regular old Bill Nye), the science area of the theme was ignored for this session as well. So we headed into the fall aspect from their wedding, full force at lightning speed when we were planning the Unique Session (there, that’s the closest I get to a science joke and it’s not even really a joke or very scientific… I tried).

Since we live in Phoenix where we only have 2 seasons (hot and not hot), we headed up to Sedona in hopes of finding some pretty foliage and a few red rocks to match.  When we got there, we were not disappointed!  It was BEEEAAUTIFUL!

And I have to say it was pretty nice to get away from all the cactus backgrounds we’ve become so used to!

Everyone had a few ideas about the specific areas to go shoot at- which didn’t really end up mattering too much because even the side of the road is beautiful in Sedona at this time of the year…

(You can see I mean that very literally!).

…so we decided to take our time and drive around exploring different spots along the way.

Despite all the smart phones (and smart people) we still managed to have quite the adventure during our explorations that consisted of far too many U-turns (the party responsible for being our tour guide shall remain nameless at this point!), but once we finally made it to our final destination, we decided it was worth all the extra time it took us to get there because it was just spectacular!

Thank you Sedona for adding that extra bit of beauty to the very deserty Arizona!

And thank you Tiffany and Ed who were smart enough to think to go up there to capture all that non-deserty beauty as a conclusion to their fall wedding story.

It was a great ending!

Gina and Jake… the perfect golf course wedding

Every time we get a call to shoot a wedding for someone who works in the wedding industry, we’re especially flattered to be chosen.  So when Gina, who works with weddings at one of our favorite venues (Eagle Mountain Golf Club), called us to shoot her own big day, we couldn’t have been more honored!

Of course the problem with having your own wedding when your job IS weddings is that it’s difficult to sit back and enjoy it while other people run it!

Wedding industry people know WAY too much about what really goes on behind the scenes to be able to be around it and not be handling it all themselves!

(Gina really wanted a shot of the rings on golf tees!).

So whenever Gina tried to take something over, her Eagle Mountain co-workers were awesome about pushing her away so she could go mingle with her friends and family members instead!

(Like our Facebook page so you can tag yourself in some of these photos!).

The groom on this big day, Jake, was doing a much better job of relaxing (not to say he didn’t have a few nervous jitters going on himself) but hung around with his groomsmen, drinking out of their engraved beer steins, and enjoying himself in the hotel room they used to get ready at before heading over to the golf course.

When the time came for their reveal moment, Gina immediately forgot all her wedding planning cares and dove right into the emotions of the moment… it was beautiful.

We were happy that Gina cried during the reveal moment, and Jake during the ceremony so that we were sure to get some emotional shots during both! What can I say? Crying makes for great pictures!

I can understand why Jake got a little misty eyed during the ceremony, it was a pretty amazing moment.

(Her dad praying with her before she walked down the aisle).

It’s one of those times when you just never know how you’ll react until you get there!

At our own wedding I (Breanna), much to my surprise, laughed through out the whole ceremony!  Whatever way the emotions of a wedding day express themselves, you can be sure they’re there and just waiting to bust out of people!

Working on a wedding together is a delicate dance…

…not just between Scottie and I as we are shooting, but between the couple getting married, the wedding planner, the caterers… and anyone and everyone who is involved behind the scenes!

So when you work with someone multiple times, you begin to understand their flow and you develop your own little dance steps that you can eventually pull it off without a single hitch!

That’s why we love working at Eagle Mountain (especially when the bride herself works there!).

Our weddings at Eagle Mountain come together like a finely tuned machine!

Nic Smith, the food and beverage director up there who is in charge of weddings, knows the way we shoot, the amount of time it takes us to do our thing, and how to create the perfect balance of being helpful and yet giving us enough freedom to do our best.

The events we work together with Nic on (and the rest of the crew at Eagle Mountain, who had a lot to do on this particular night since they didn’t have Gina there working!), are some of the smoothest flowing weddings we have!

Nic knows all our favorite spots to shoot at, so he and Gina planned just the right amount of time into the schedule for him to drive us around in a golf cart stopping at all the best places!

Gina and Jake, I hope your wedding was everything you dreamed it would be and that it was the best night of your life!

Congratulations and we wish you both the best!

Friends and family celebrate Hector and Diana’s wedding!

The first thing I think of when I look back on Diana and Hector’s wedding is how freaking BEEEAUTIFUL Diana looked!!

She was so stunning!  I can’t believe Hector didn’t pass out when he first saw her coming down the aisle!

Her hair, makeup, dress… all of it was perfect!

(She also looked incredibly happy throughout the entire day!  She couldn’t stop her smile… it was sneaking out all over the place!).

Don’t worry, Hector, I won’t leave you out… you looked pretty good yourself!:-)

Of course there were other fantastic aspects of their wedding…

…the major one that stands out in my head is how obvious it was that they have really awesome relationships with their family and friends.

Right from the beginning of the day, I got the chance to hang out with all the great people that were involved in the wedding and get to know them a little bit better… the room that Diana got ready in was full to the brim with women up until the start of the ceremony and it was so much fun to watch them interact and listen to their own stories while putting the finishing touches on their makeup!

It was definitely a very fun group and I loved spending so much time with them on such a significant day!

Speaking of their family… Hector’s mom made all the flower arrangements and they were so impressive… she definitely has a talent for it!

A lot of their friends were long term friends who were very invested in Hector and Diana’s lives (the best man told stories about kindergarten in his toast!)…

…and their family was pretty connected to each other throughout the day as well.

(Diana’s two brothers walked her down the aisle).

(The mother son dance).

You can’t beat a day that is full of watching emotional interactions happen among a group of people who care about one another so much!

There was definite genuine love in this group and it was beautiful!

Creative Phoenix wedding photographerThe ceremony itself was a good example of this (by the way, they had Bible readings in both Spanish and English and it was awesome!)!

The officiant was a part of the family and she made the ceremony very personal by including lots of stories about the two growing up.

She spoke of times when their family was there for them and she did a great job highlighting all the beauty in these families that stood out to me so much during the rest of the day.

(I love this one of her and her mom during the ceremony!  I’ll bet that’s a moment neither will ever forget).

It was so fun to get to hear all these stories and to feel like I got to know everyone so much better through the ceremony.

We were so glad our friends Janae and Ron from Tyars Media Videography were there to capture it all on video!

So of course with this many fun people, who have known each other for so many years… the party could be nothing but amazing!

Dancing, laughing, drinking, eating… everyone there maintained permanent smiles on their faces!

Especially Diana and Hector of course!

Thank you Diana and Hector for inviting us into your tight knit community to have the privilege of being a part of your special day!

We truly enjoyed your wedding and we are so happy that the two of you found one another… you seem really perfect together.
