Allison's Sunflower Soaked Maternity Session (by Josh & Kelley)

When Allison first contacted me (Kelley) and Josh about doing a maternity session, we went back and forth on locations for a while.

She wanted something unique and interesting, but also wanted the photos to be classic enough that they could have them up in their home for years to come.

Understanding her dilemma, Josh and I did quite a bit of location scouting in order to find the perfect spot.  After lots of searching, we finally landed on a downtown location and set a date.

Not four days later, Josh and I stumbled upon a beautiful field of sunflowers, and, even though we had already picked a different location for Allison’s session, we KNEW this would be perfect.

However, there was a catch, the beautiful flowers would be harvested in about a week.  We had to move fast!

That night, I went home and sent Allison a message and showed her a couple of photos of the location. She was hooked!

Apparently her husband Tim was pretty excited as well.  According to him, they wanted photos with sunflowers “more than [they] want[ed] to live”.

Enough said.  This was happening. We all moved a few things around and set the session for three days later (a month earlier than we originally planned).

I think it’s safe to say that we were all more than pleased with the way things worked out!

Allison told us that yellow is one of her favorite colors and she absolutely loves sunflowers.  How perfect is that?

Not only were the flowers beautiful, but the surrounding area was beautiful as well!

Allison, we’re so happy that you got the unique yet classic session that you’d been dreaming of, and we’re even more excited to meet that new little one very soon!
